comfortable Jul 22, 2008 This is a very comfortable seat for my 5 year old who I feel is too small for just a regular booster. It was actually a replacement seat for the same model which performed well in a car accident we were recently in. I would recommend it for both comfort and safety.
Surprised at how light this is... Jun 26, 2008 I bought this for my almost 4 year old son because he had outgrown our Britax Marathon. I was really surprised at how light and flimsy it appears to be. I just couldn't justify putting him in this yet, especially when I realized it's not secured to the vehicle in any way other than the seatbelt. I sent it back and went with the Regent instead. Although the Regent is HUGE, I feel my son is much more safe.
Sturdy product with some limitations Jun 24, 2008 In my opinion, Britax makes the best carseats and this one is no exception. It is sturdy and well made. The side headrests are a real plus when kids fall asleep or when they are tired and need to "rest their head." Britax states that this carseat is for kids upto 60 inches tall and 100 pounds. I don't think so! The bodice of the seat is very narrow. It couldn't possibly accomodate a chubbier child comfortably. My child is five and weighs 40LBs. Even then, she says it feels a bit tight around her body. There isn't much room for her to move (which is probably a good safety thing) but I can't imagine her using this seat for too much longer.
Britax Parkway Far Better Than Other Boosters Jun 21, 2008 Don't skimp on your child's safety in the car! Britax is definitely worth the money and one of the best seat makers in the market. We originally purchased a Graco TurboBooster for my husband's Toyota Tacoma truck, and we quickly came to realize that the Graco seat does not sit nearly as high as the Parkway (critical for correct seat belt positioning). The Graco TB also has very little side impact protection in contrast to the Britax Parkway. It just feels flimsy all the way around and seems to move easily on the seat. The Britax Parkway does not move around on the seat -it has a slip resistant base, and it is just more substanial all the way around. The Britax Parkway provides the appropriate cushion height, comfort, total side impact protection "wings," and it is very stylish as well if that matters to you. It is durable, well made and moves easily from car to car. For our other vehicle (Acura MDX) we still use a 5-pt harnessed seat (the Britax Regent) which is best to use as long as your child does not exceed the weight/height (the Regent is designed to be the seat your child will not outgrow quickly). We have a very tall 4 1/2 year old (nearly 44"), and the Regent will be his seat for still some time to come. Please visit www.kyledavidmiller.org to learn more about the right seat for your child. While the stories on this site are extremely heartbreaking, it is a much needed wake-up call for ensuring your child is in the right seat at the right time based on age, maturity, size, etc. God bless little Kyle and the many others that have been lost.
Well built but flawed Jun 03, 2008 Purchased two units based upon recommendation. Well built but headrest mechanism does not lock in place without physical manipulation at the back. Adjustment is difficult with a child in the seat.
